The Society
of Jesus (commonly known as the Jesuits) is a Catholic men's religious
order that encounters the needs of the world in numerous ways. Many
Jesuits manage and teach in universities and high schools, administer
and preach in parishes and retreat houses, and guide people in retreats
throughout the world. The Detroit Province of the Society of Jesus
is made up of roughly 150 Jesuits who mostly live and work in Michigan
and Ohio.
