St. Alphonsus Rodriguez, S.J., (1532-1671) entered the Society of Jesus in 1572 when he was 40 years old. As a Brother, Alphonsus served as porter (door keeper) for the Jesuit college at Majorca until his death. He greeted everyone as if they were Jesus Christ in person. Alphonsus is remembered for his hospitality, dedication, wise council, and spiritual writings. |
