St. Alphonsus Rodriguez, S.J., (1532-1671) entered the Society of Jesus in 1572 when he was 40 years old. As a Brother, Alphonsus served as porter (door keeper) for the Jesuit college at Majorca until his death. He greeted everyone as if they were Jesus Christ in person. Alphonsus is remembered for his hospitality, dedication, wise council, and spiritual writings.

Fr. Robert Scullin, S.J., was the
principle presider at the Mass.

Jesuit Brothers celebrate the feast of Alphonsus Rodriguez each year on October 31st. They attempt to follow Alphonsus' example by recognizing and serving Christ in each person they encounter.
